Acorn Environmental’s team of biologists are midway through a busy construction season, conducting pre-construction surveys, worker environmental awareness trainings, and ongoing environmental monitoring for projects across California. From the southern tip of the Central Valley to the shores of the Sacramento Delta and the hills of Lake Berryessa, the team has surveyed for sensitive species including burrowing owls, western pond turtles, nesting birds, and more. These efforts support responsible development while protecting California’s diverse wildlife and habitats.
Meanwhile we have been tracking the latest State and federal regulatory changes, including new California Environmental Quality Act exemptions, updated federal agency procedures for National Environmental Policy Act implementation, and proposed changes to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits, among others. Our fieldwork and research efforts are ensuring that projects move forward in compliance with environmental regulations, while safeguarding the species and ecosystems that make California unique.
